This debate with the grinning Fornals, we've been here before haven't we with other players, same weekly shit. Clearly some people see completely different things on a football pitch, which in itself is a little strange.

I suspect he will eventually go the same way as Anderson, ie will never improve, doesn't bring nowhere near enough to the table and will run out of chances. He will then just be sitting around on his paid holiday before some mid table side in Spain take a punt on him.

Also why does Moyes bother with 9 subs as we all know he is never going to play
Ajeti, Silva, Johnson

Hammer & Pickle

After sitting quietly for these past 3 months just casually browsing the other threads reading you dribble on about everything and nothing you have some front chucking insults about.
The incident you refer to (although bad in itself) was not what I was referring to.
His forward pass completion must be in single figures, it’s atrocious and we lose possession nigh on every time he tries to be creative.
Heading - Not seen win one yet
Shooting - Nuff said
Passing - Sat - Nav required
Running - Consistent but ineffective
Dribbling - Do me a favour
Smiling 10/10
I’d be laughing my bollocks off as well if I was him.
Lanzini
Looks like he’s never gonna recover from that injury, real shame as he was a top player who by all accounts was going to be a key part of that Argentina World Cup squad.
I think we need to be patient but he seems to have lost that change of direction and it’s not looking good for him.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Why did Antonio take short throw twice when he went to take a long throw. If they cross the ball in he needs to be in the penalty area. Ferking stupid

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
The severity of his knee injury was one that some players just never fully recover from.
Also think it may have impacted him more mentally than physically, not that he was ever diving into challenges but now looks like he actively avoids them

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Lanzini is 27 and should be at the beginning of his peak. You'd have thought he'd be fully fit after the Covid break but maybe he's carrying an injury and Moyes has realised an unfit Lanzini is a better option than Anderson.

It's his acceleration over 5/10 meters that he seems to have lost.

Just watched the full recording and was a decent game, good point, but oh so frustrating to keep throwing away a lead, not once but twice!! Thought Rice was excellent, Soucek is growing into the role really well but the two main weaknesses again were as most seem to say Fornals and Lanzini. Kept a close eye on Lanzini and how far he has fallen which is such a shame as he was a terrific little player. Tidy enough but that's all he seems to do - playing safe passes, never taking people on like he used to and almost seems worried about getting tackled. Could be mental, physical or both but a shadow of the player he was.

LANZINIs passing was exceptionally accomplished

FREDERICKS had another good game

Lanzini has looked a shadow of the player he was in his first 2 seasons.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Agreed, Lanzini is far more of a problem than Fornals at the moment. Fornals has strengths and weaknesses, but I can't see any positives in Lanzini just now. It's all very well saying we should sell him - who's going to buy him? He's on way more money (and a nice long contract) than anyone else will be prepared to pay for a player like him, based on the last two years' form rather than the previous two years.

What’s the obsession with Fornals? Looks like some fans are backing themselves into a corner as usual. Lanzini is fine though, obviously.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Fornals is clearly a talented player that has very good vision.

He also loses the ball too much and isn't strong enough.

He has shown capacity to improve and will do so again.

Lanzini has completely lost it and should leave.

Rice hopefully will stay and should obviously be captain permanently next season.
And captain of England.

Fornals has "no awareness of what is going on around him"?

ffs we have some very special fans.

He didn't track back and fucked up the offside trap and they scored. Rest of the game he played with lots of awareness. Is English a language you have no awareness of how to use?

Rice and Soucek look a really decent partnership. Need them around at the start of next season

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Fornals is garbage, runs around and smiles a lot that’s it!
He has no awareness of what’s around him and that can’t be taught at this stage of his career.
Wasteful in possession and weak in the tackle, can’t shoot , can’t head apart from that he’s a keeper! Another wasted purchase, Bowen is on a different level already.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Really enjoyed that, and the last game. I think we should play Yarmalenko as a second striker with Anderson (when on form) playing wide but with all three interchanging (Antonio, Yarmalenko and Anderson).

Surprised nobody mentioned what a fantastic game Rice had. At the same time, Cresswell and Fredericks were not at their best today.

Lanzini is finished he has to be sold, fornals I’m really disappointed with, willing to stick with him but needs to improve

Souceks work rate is phenomenal, Bowen looks like a steal for 22 mill

Maybe Moyes does deserve some credit

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread
The commentator did not mention Lanzini until the 35th minute. Neither he nor Fornals were prepared to run with the ball and take players on.
